Like a more po-faced HitmanGround Zeroes lets you figure out your approach, rather than directing you down a set path. At the beginning of the mission you know what you have to do, and where you have to do it, but how you get in there and complete your task is up to you.

Instead, you have to mark enemies with your… eh… magic binoculars. Fans were upset by the lack of silly cutscenes, and the runtime was debated ad nauseum, but Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was the perfect precursor to The Phantom Painrepresenting a new dawn for the series. It challenged our perception of what a Metal Gear game could be.

Tra la confusione generale, Snake riesce ad avvistare Miller e scende per portarlo in salvo sull'elicottero, che decolla appena in tempo prima che la piattaforma affondi.

Miller spiega che l'ispezione non era altro che una messinscena per permettere alla XOF di attaccarli. L'esplosione ustiona Snake in faccia e fa perdere al pilota il controllo dell'elicottero, il quale va a schiantarsi contro un elicottero della XOF.

Dopo i titoli di coda si assiste a un dialogo tra Paz e Skull Face avvenuto prima dell'arrivo di Snake a Camp Omega: per motivi sconosciuti, Skull Face vuole uccidere Cipher e Paz gli rivela dove si nasconde, sperando che questo possa salvare Snake. Completando la missione principale, Ground Zeroessi sbloccano sei missioni secondarie chiamate anche Side Ops ambientate tutte a Camp Omega, ma che non hanno alcun collegamento con la storia principale:.

Critical reception to Ground Zeroes was generally positive, with praise for its mechanics, voice acting, story, and graphics, while the majority of the criticism concerned its short length.

Huey viene interrogato brutalmente da Ocelot. I bambini salvati nella miniera chiedono a Snake di salvare un loro compagno, tenuto prigioniero in un luogo pericoloso chiamato Nzo ya Badiabulula "Casa del Diavolo". Snake acconsente e giunto sul luogo scopre un laboratorio di ricerca con decine di cavie. Gli abitanti della zona sono afflitti dal parassita, tra cui il compagno dei bambini.

Qui incontra Skull Face, che fa bruciare il capannone dall'Uomo di Fuoco. Alcuni Diamond Dogs, intanto, iniziano a mostrare i sintomi tipici della malattia.
